EYEONE - SHORT BIOGRAPHY.
After learning my basics as a DJ since 1996
by running a marathon 8-hour weekly residence at the late lounge
"Le Carré" in Paris for 2 years, spinning funk,
jazz, salsa, hip hop and electronica into tight, flowing mixes,
then for some years in most of the bars and clubs of Paris, Eye
evolved towards house and techno, carefully selecting musical gems,
from deep/minimal to full-on tech-funk, without paying attention
to genre restriction.
Now spinning mostly tech-house, minimal & techno with an all-out,
"always in the mix" attitude, in deeply soulful and technically
sharp sets, my countless appearances have gotten me to play between
France and Belgium, in places famous and infamous, including Café
d'Anvers, Fuse, Festivibe, Batofar, Le Gibus, Rex Club, Kozzmozz,
Le Divan du Monde... Alone or next to international headliners among
the greatest and as various as : Dave Clarke, Claude young, Jack
de Marseille, Mark Broom, Ricardo Villalobos, Space DJs, X-Dream
and many others...
As a composer and producer : I have been working on making
my own music since days where computers were not that powerful and
groovy, and had to learn making cheap sounding tracks the long,
hard way (how boring). Moving out of that stone age I have been
lucky enough to see some of my first releases end up on one of the
world's most respected techno imprints, Berlin's RESOPAL (the "Dancing
with Moles" e.p), or on BBC radio 1 charts and compilation
(the "Rockin'samba" e.p, out on UK's CUBA rec), as well
as to collaborate with Paris-based Buena Onda Records as an artist
and co-manager on a compilation project entitled MICROSCAPES. I
conduct several projects ranging from downtempo electronica to tech-house.
The "Parisienne" album, released on Buena Onda Records in
2006 is only one side of my downtempo production, while "Spaghettibrain"
(Album due early 2007 on my netlabel) is another piece of the puzzle,
based on all sorts of freestyle extravaganza, wicked samples, shiny
horns, hip-hop beatz, industrial noises and rock guitars... You
can listen to some of that & other stuff in the "Projects"
section. More projects and collabs under way...
The "Eyeone" alias is the one I use for all things techno,
also in a wide spectrum of styles, from "kind-of-minimal"
to full-on banging stuff.
